The aim of the Doctorate Programme in Curriculum and Instruction is to provide students with the ability to conduct independent research, to interpret scientific events by examining them from a broad and deep perspective and to determine the necessary steps to reach new conclusions. In addition, to train young researchers and faculty members who can comprehend all the concepts and methods of Curriculum and Instruction, have the ability to interpret real life applications, have a say in their field of study, contribute to national and international projects and transfer their knowledge to the scientific world through publications such as papers, articles and books.
Evaluation of Applications to Doctorate Programme
Candidates who will apply to PhD Programmes must have a master's degree with thesis and must have the required ALES score in the score type of the programme they apply for. In the admission of students in the doctoral programme, 50% of the ALES score, 25% of the oral interview / written exam, 25% of the master's general grade point average is calculated by evaluating. Candidates who get less than 50 points from the oral interview / written exam will not be evaluated. As a result of the evaluation, those with a score lower than 65 are not accepted for placement. The scores obtained are ranked starting from the highest score. The number of quotas announced is taken. Candidates who will apply to PhD Programmes must have the required foreign language score for the programme they apply for.
Note 1: Placement score is not calculated for candidates who do not take the oral interview and/or written exam and these candidates are considered unsuccessful.
Note 2: Departments have the right to interview at least 4 times as many candidates as the quotas announced.
The doctoral programme consists of a total of twenty-one (21) credits and at least 240 ECTS credits, including at least seven courses, seminar, doctoral proficiency exam, thesis proposal, doctoral specialization course and thesis study, provided that an education period is not less than 60 ECTS. A student enrolled in a doctoral programme is exempt from at least one course on scientific research techniques and research and publication ethics if he/she has taken it during his/her master's degree education; if not, he/she is obliged to take this course.
